The fault is with the media receiver box (MR-01)which does not allow the TV Monitor (KRP500A) to power up. Initially it would show alternating flashing red and blue squares on the monitor and power down. It could then be switched back on with the remote, and would run for so long and do again. Finally I unplugged the lead from the media receiver box to the TV, and replugged in. Folling this the MR01 goes straight into standby mode. The fault is not with the TV but the MR-01 media receiver, which is not giving output voltage to the TV. Looking on AV forums this is a common fault with this set, and not an overheating issue. There is a video on you tube where you can check the output voltage of a component which seems to be the issue in the fact that this said component fires up with input voltage but when failed gives a lower output of something like 1.8 volts instead of 5 volts, so in effect the TV will not work. The component when changed, worked with a different output voltage and the tv was fine. I believe therefore the issue is same as what I have, only difference being in the video it showed the power board on the unit on the TVas it was the 9th generation Pioneer model.

On collection I was greeted by Norbert the very pleasant staff member again who handed me the headphones in a protective case. I was absolutely overjoyed. I thought they were beyond being fixed. How wrong could I be. They're definitely as good as new. -
