This is an electronic gear shifter. There is a pair of wires internally in the shifter unit that go up from the levers to a chip located in the top part of the unit. This top part is screwed on to the main lever unit, and is meant to be non-serviceable (it's not a replaceable part). In my case, this top part came off when I was trying to remove the rubber top cover. In the process, it ripped the two wires at the point they attach to what I think must be a chip stored in the top section (which houses a button). I then stripped back the inner lever wires and (stupidly) cut the other pair of wires to the head unit – thinking they may simply join. So both pair of wires need re-joining to the chipboard. I haven't been able to get access into the head unit itself. What we need to do is to open the top unit and somehow rejoin / resolder these two pairs of wires… The shifter unit is worth £250, so any repair would need to be rather less than this… The warranty is void, btw, so it's either repair or replace.

The damage to be repaired ie a crazed screen was correctly described so the cost of the part and time element would have been available before quoting. Was greeted by a very pleasant and extremely helpful member of staff. He explained what they would do, what I would need to do and if I wanted to go ahead with the repair I could pay in person as he was aware of my computer situation.
On collection I was greeted by Norbert the very pleasant staff member again who handed me the headphones in a protective case. I was absolutely overjoyed. I thought they were beyond being fixed. How wrong could I be. They're definitely as good as new. -

I broke my Bose headphones trying to fit new ear cushions which proved impossible for me to fit. I found Electronic Partners … read more details online and contacted them. They paid for the postage of my headphones to them, assessed the damage and gave me a very reasonable quote to repair them. They fixed the damage and also fitted the ear cushions for me, then returned the headphones in perfect working order. They even offered me a one year warranty for their work which I took out for £10.
All in all a very professional and helpful service and gave me my much loved headphones back with new ear cushions and working perfectly. So much cheaper than buying a new pair. I would not hesitate to use them again in the future.
