This has occured both at points where the cable meets the plastic of the earphone pieces themselves, the jack and the joint where the 2 wires from the earphone units turn into 1 wire to the jack) as well as in one or two other places along the length of the cable. One of the earphone units is also slightly damaged and I hope you can do a better job of the repair than I. The earphones still work well. The metal shielding below the cable tubing is intact as far as I can see. Please see photos.
